The centre is an autonomous research and training institution.
The faculties of the institute have been given the freedom to carry out their own subject for research. This has resulted more diverse interdisciplinary research covering a wide range of issues. However, the major focus of all the research at the institute is with a policy relevance and significant impact on well being of society.
Research Outcomes are disseminated through seminars, policy briefs, professional journals, magazines and newspapers. Over the years, the members of the institute could publish several journal articles, books and reports.
The institute has an efficient project cell which facilitates the research faculties in their research projects and activities. The cell helps the researchers to organise field work, data processing, organising seminars and workshops, and publishing. The project cell hires both technical and non-technical experts on requirement.
The institute provide research consultancy to various research institutions and government agencies. The institute works in non-profit motive and only charges the expenses incurred for the activities. |
